So many people in downtown LA already make Tuesday nights at Seven Grand their local spot for great music and a HUGE array of whiskies to choose from. But for those who may not be familiar with The Makers you should make sure to make Seven Grand on Tuesdays a point of destination when in downtown. Their show is a 100% improvised wall of sound that is influenced from every from everyone from Miles Davis, Radiohead, Medeski Martin and Wood, Four Tet and Mars Volta to Meshell N'degeocello.
They go on 10P and jam out till 1A and there is never a cover. Take it from the locals, it's a must see show!

The Smiths are considered by some critics to be the most important alternative rock band to emerge from the British independent scene of the 1980’s. Johnny Marr’s intricate melodic sense provided a complex sonic background for Morrissey's theatrical crooning and poetic lyrics. The group remained underground cult artists in the States, but their fan base steadily grew larger over the years, and continues growing to this day as many of today’s artists point to the Smiths as a source of inspiration.
Still Ill is San Diego’s tribute to the music of Morrissey and the Smiths. They are an energetic group of established local musicians who also happen to be huge fans. It is their passion for the music that brought them together and it is evident in their stage act. With a constantly growing repertoire of material, ability to respond to crowd requests, and knack for pulling out obscure B-sides and rare gems, this is a tribute band that does not fail to represent their idols to the fullest. Due to the Smiths and Morrissey’s extremely loyal fan base, expectations are set high, and Still Ill delivers accordingly with a highly practiced and polished sound.
