Dagny Taggart

Seven Grand barman Leo Rivas says of the Dagny Taggart, recently featured as a “Drink of the Week” in Imbibe Magazine, “This cocktail was developed to introduce people to new flavors, especially those found in Single Malt Scotch Whisky.”
Named for the fictional heroine in Ayn Rand’s Atlas Shrugged, this cocktail combines Scotch, aperol and two Italian aperitifs into one stunning sipper.

1 3/4 oz. Scotch whisky
1/2 oz. Aperol
1/4 oz. Torani Amer
Wash Ardbeg 10-year
Ice sphere
Tools: mixing glass, barspoon, strainer
Glass: Old Fashioned
Garnish: flamed orange peel

Stir all ingredients, except ice, in a mixing glass. Strain over a large piece of ice into an Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with a flamed orange peel.
